A modern and captivating design, built around a high-strength polymer (Ryton) chassis with a rounded handguard machined out of a solid billet of 7075-T6 airspace-grade lightweight aluminium alloy (ERGAL-55), the Sabatti ST-18 bolt-action long range rifle was first showcased by the Italian manufacturer – one of Europe’s best known makers of bolt-action long-range rifles – at the 2019 edition of the NSSF SHOT Show in Las Vegas.
Conceived for hunting, long-range shooting competition andPolice uses alike, the new Sabatti ST-18 is planned to be distributed with 20-inch and 24-inch barrels to begin with – all featuring the Multi-Radial Rifling (MRR) that made Sabatti’s rifles so famous for their accuracy.
The polymer chassis of the Sabatti ST-18 rifle features an AR-15 style buffer tube to adapt to any M4-style collapsible buttstock; at the heart of the rifle itself is a new free-floating action developed in close collaboration with BCM Europearms, manufactured with the utmost attention to heat treatments to provide a high level of resistance and a long service life even if high-pressure loads are used habitually.
Fed through an AICS-compatible magazine well, the Sabatti ST-18 bolt-action long-range rifle offers a reliable feeding and a smooth operation; all controls – including the magazine release catch and the bolt handle knob – are oversized to provide comfortable operation even when wearing thick gloves.
